


Originally intent on becoming a lawyer, he left law school when he discovered that only five out of 55 Pacific Islanders at Burton had a 2.00 GPA. Moliga received his bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies at San Jose State University. Later down the road, he would also come to further understand the importance of public education as a father of children attending public schools.

He gained first-hand insight into the SFUSD as a student at Paul Revere Elementary, Burbank Middle School, McAteer High School, Downtown High Continuation, John Adams, and finally as a graduate from Balboa High School. He grew up in the San Francisco neighborhoods of Bernal Heights and Hunter’s Point, where he lived in public housing with his family. The recall election is not asking if the entire school board is to be recalled, but rather just the three individuals listed on the ballot. Note : Commissioner Moliga is not speaking on behalf of the entire school board or on the merits of recalling his fellow commissioners but just on his perspective. We're hosting an event on the recall to help inform people as the vote comes up. Distance learning, school renaming, budget shortfalls, and other issues have frustrated many around the city, resulting in an official recall vote for the February 15th ballot. The school board has been embroiled in controversy for the last couple years, often making national news. Should they be recalled? Manny's is creating a time and place that we hope will contribute to an honest discourse about the issues facing the city.
